Short answers to the questions a learner, tutor or reviewer may reasonably ask about DosePractice.
What is DosePractice?
DosePractice is an independent educational arithmetic resource for practising commonly taught nursing numeracy. It shows the formula, substitution, working and mathematical result.
Can I use it to calculate something for a real patient?
No. Use fictional or tutor-provided values only. Do not enter patient information or use a DosePractice result for an individual patient.
Is DosePractice a clinical checking system?
No. It does not verify prescriptions, confirm safe doses, apply patient-specific clinical limits, recommend treatment or authorise administration.
Is DosePractice approved by the NHS, NMC or a university?
No. DosePractice is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NHS, NMC, any university or any healthcare employer. It also does not claim CQC or WHO approval.
How can I double-check an answer?
Each educational calculation is designed to show the method, the values substituted into the method, the working, the final result and the unit. This lets you reproduce the arithmetic yourself using an appropriate tutor-approved or organisational source.
How are the questions checked?
The project uses recorded arithmetic methods, stable question IDs, automated recalculation and regression tests, answer-display/marking checks, version records and owner editorial review. These controls reduce error but cannot guarantee that every error has been removed.
Who reviewed the content?
DosePractice is a solo-owner project. The owner is responsible for publication decisions and reviews the content and source records before release. AI has substantially assisted development but is not treated as a clinician, regulator or independent reviewer. DosePractice must not describe content as independently clinically validated unless that genuinely happens and the scope is stated.
Where do the formulae come from?
The project maintains a source/method/rounding register. Public formula guidance and methodology pages explain the arithmetic methods and their boundaries. Final source and version records must be owner-reviewed before commercial publication or search indexing.
What if I find an error?
Report it. Questions have stable IDs to make reports traceable. Material errors can be withdrawn, corrected, tested and recorded in the status/corrections route.

Does DosePractice store my answers or score?
Entered answers and individual scores are not sent to DosePractice's analytics service. Some optional learning information can be stored only in your browser so the site can remember progress on that device. See the Privacy page for the exact current design.
Do I need an account?
No learner account is required.
Can I print and share practice packs?
Yes. Genuine personal and non-commercial educational sharing is encouraged with DosePractice attribution. Practice packs can include the DosePractice website and stable question IDs. Classroom/tutor mode can keep the direct exact-set answer route on a separate tutor reference page.
Can a university or healthcare organisation use DosePractice formally?
DosePractice is not a competency assessment, mandatory training platform or clinical checking system. Any organisation considering formal adoption must complete its own educational, clinical-safety, accessibility, information-governance and procurement review.
Is DosePractice accessible?
Accessibility is a release requirement. The project targets WCAG 2.2 AA, but full manual browser, keyboard, zoom and screen-reader testing must be completed before conformance is claimed.
Does DosePractice use AI?
Yes. AI has substantially assisted code, question templates, explanations, tests and documentation. AI output is not treated as authoritative. The project uses source records, owner review, automated verification, reporting and correction controls.
Will adverts affect the answers?
Advertising is disabled in the development release. If adverts are introduced later, educational content and calculation logic must remain independent of advertising, printed packs must remain advert-free, and ads must not be placed so they could be mistaken for a question, answer or recommendation.
Why does DosePractice publish all these limitations?
Because transparency is part of the product. The aim is to make clear what the arithmetic tool can demonstrate, what it cannot demonstrate and how a learner can independently check the result.
